Managing email on an IMAP server is part of everyday business. The slim client Geary makes it as simple on the desktop as it is on many mobile devices – despite a few remaining shortcomings.
Increasingly, voices herald the death of traditional email. In its place will be social networks and other services; however, thanks to smartphones, sending email has never been so easy.
The old rituals of opening the provider’s website and going through a complicated login or starting Thunderbird and calling up email have been changed by the use of mobile technology: Many processes have gotten simpler because the clear-cut interfaces of the mobile mail clients make it easier to concentrate on what is essential.
