A Smoother Wine 1.1.24

The Wine project is clearly not asleep at the wheel: with Wine 1.1.24 there is a new version of Windows API for Linux which supports free desktop file associations. Also, improved ARB Shaders are included, and exception handling for 64-bit systems are now supported. In addition, the current version has cleaned up a number of bugs.

World of Warcraft was a casualty of an extreme drop of FPS since version 3.0.2. The issue was resolved in addition to an incorrect display of icons with Direct 3D. The Windows version of Gimp 2.6 can now be opened with Wine images. The HDR rendering for various programs has been corrected and the performance from Test Drive has been improved.

Wine is now able to load the interface from Photoshop CS 4, and errors which appeared on start up before have been eliminated as well as error messages due to functions which were not available. In Trackmania Nations Forever, the keyboard functions once more, as well as the installer from Ghost Recon. A crash from Quicken 2009 has been done away with and errors that appeared upon installation of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 likewise.
