Bangarang Release Candidate 1.0
The media player Bangarang has qualities that could soon make it the default player for KDE. This latest release fixes a few bugs and is compatible with KDE 4.4.
Among the features of the new KDE media player are mixed play lists for films and music and closer integration in the KDE 4 desktop. With the help of Nepomuk, Banagarang saves the ratings for videos and individual music and makes it available for other KDE applications. For example, the data manager Dolphin. For playback, Bangarang utilizes Phonon, therefore supporting all data formats of the Phonon backend.
The release candidate fixes issues in the meta data update and the album covers in ID3V2 tags. The meta data update of saved play lists now also functions as it should. Head developer, Andrew Lake, has also built in Dolphin drag&drop support, and added Chinese localization.
