Easypeasy 1.5 with UXA Support

Sep 08, 2009

Based on Ubuntu 9.04, Easypeasy comes with additional support packages for netbooks and for the first time, support for Intel's UXA drivers.

According to an announcement by developer Jon Ramvi, this makes Easypeasy the first distribution to support true Compiz 3D graphics with Intel graphic cards. Further changes include:

  • Kernel 2.6.30
  • Faster boot times
  • Default Ext4
  • Banshee instead of Songbird
  • Support for more notebooks

The latest release has a new look and feel. A fitting repo-file gives the software access to all of Ubuntu's repositories, without specific Easypeasy files being over-written.

As can be expected from any serious netbook distro, Easypeasy has an ISO image, DVD and USB image available for download. More details can be found on the project homepage.
