Aug 19, 2009

Greg Kroah-Hartman, Jonathan Corbet and Amanda McPherson have published the new Linux developer statistics.

The PDF, entitled Linux Kernel Development, shows in figures and graphics what's going on in Linux development. First published in 2008, the updated Git documentation from the three developers provides an insight to development from version 2.6.11 to 2.6.30. A history of development over the past four years. Readers will discover, amongst other interesting facts, that 389 developers were involved with kernel 2.6.11, compared with 1150 on the 2.6.30.
