Novell to Acquire Managed Objects
The Managed Objects company specializes in business service management (BSM), a sector where Novell sees a deficit in its own portfolio. To rectify this, Novell announced its acquisition of Managed Objects.
With the takeover, Novell hopes to strengthen its package of data center solutions. The services from Managed Objects include the visualization of workflows and information, plus Novell will gain from the Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB) technology that comes with the transaction. Managed Objects customer base will also prove interesting for Novell.
The acquisition should close during the first quarter of 2009 for an as yet undisclosed sum. Managed Objects will be integrated into the Systems and Resource Management sector of Novell.
