SUSE Studio Builds Images for Amazon EC2

Oct 28, 2010

A new feature has emerged in SUSE Studio, the build format for Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)

Last week provided OpenSUSE 11.3 users the exclusive option to build in EC2, and now SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11 SP1 users have the option. SUSE Studio developers promise SLES 10 SP3 will follow next week.

The SUSE folks say that with Amazon's offering of free use of the EC2 Cloud Services, now is a great time to build server appliances with Studio. The announcement from SUSE includes a short How To on building EC2 into Studio.
