WANdisco Acquires SVNForum.org
WANdisco, makers of Enterprise Subversion, announced its acquisition of SVNForum.org, an 20,000+ Subversion user community, today.
Since the SVNForum.org acquisition, WANdisco (Enterprise Subversion) gives the site a new look, adds updated features, and enhances the user-experience.
WANdisco updates and additions to SVNForum.org include enhanced site securuity, better spam protection and improved search engine optimization.
"No open source project can thrive without an active community such as SVNForum.org that serves the needs of both developers and users by facilitating communication and providing accurate and timely information," said David Richards, President and CEO of WANdisco in the press release today. "Given our commitment to the Subversion project we felt it was critical that we stepped up and made whatever changes were necessary to ensure SVNForum's long-term success."
Apache Subversion boasts of 5 million users and earns it a reputation as a leader in Standalone Software Configuration Management and in a recent Eclipse Foundation survey, 58% of Eclipse users use Subversion, making it a leader in source code management.
