Open Source is emerging for the first time as a central theme at the CeBIT 2009 conference. Linux Magazine, together with the conference organizers and the Linux Foundation, is now encouraging Open Source projects to bid for free booths at the conference.
Environmental protection and cost savings are not mutually exclusive. The hype topic Green IT was the subject of a press conference on Monday by CeBIT organizers Messe AG with representatives of various companies and a spokesperson for the global Climate Savers Initiative.
Details of the LinuxPark lecture program at Cebit 2008 (March 4 through 9, 2008) are now available. Corporate users can look forward to topics such as Green IT and Software as a Service (SaaS) and home users to talks on Web 2.0 and multimedia applications.
