New KDE Forum

The KDE project wants more contact with its users: After the recent work on a User-Wiki, KDE has now opened a user forum, complete with forum software published under GPLv3 license.

Sebastian Kuegler, member of the KDE e.V. Board of Directors, sees the forum as a further service. Kuegler believes that because KDE is becoming so popular, the project should give users who are unfamiliar with the e-mail procedure an opportunity to take part in discussions.

Makers of forum software MyBB evaluated the KDE project and decided to offer their software to the Open Source cause. Formerly under its own propriatery license, "this was very well-received by the community around MyBB", says Project Manager Chris Boulton. The new KDE forum can be found at forum.kde.org.
