Garmin and Asus Show nüvifone with Android
The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 15-18, 2010 will have the Garmin and Asus alliance presenting their nüvifone A50, a smartphone with navigation capabilities.
The device is set up as a touchscreen mobile phone with 3.5" display, 4 GBytes of memory and a microSD card slot. Being Android-based, the A50 can rely on the usual Google operating system tools and services. Garmin provides the navigation solution with its usual voice-prompted directions for car drivers or walkers.
Interested parties will unfortunately have to wait until the official announcement to find out what maps are preinstalled. Same goes for the price and other A50 internals. A camera is included, as the gallery shows. Market availability is expected to be the first half of 2010. Also to be shown at the Barcelona show is the M10 device for Windows Mobile.
