JetBrains Releases PhpStorm
PhpStorm 6 redesigned with a new look and many new features.
JetBrains announced the release of PhpStorm 6, the company’s PHP IDE. According to the company, “PhpStorm provides a mix of powerful intelligent tools, useful everyday actions and best practices for PHP development, all geared toward enhancing your productivity.”
The latest version of PhpStorm includes more code inspections, smarter code completion and namespace handling, fully customizable templates, improved runtime error prevention, new automated refactorings, a reworked HTML structure view, new database schema editor, and more. According to the announcement, PhpStorm 6 also allows more routine tasks, such as working with the database and testing RESTful web services with the integrated REST client, to be performed from within the IDE. Additionally, this version of PhpStorm has been redesigned with a new IDE look and feel, featuring Darcula – a dark UI theme for the IDE and the editor.
JetBrains offers several purchasing levels, including free licensing for open source projects and classrooms. Academic, personal, and commercial licenses are priced at US$ 29, US$ 99, and US$ 199, respectively.
