Transparency in firmware with Libreboot
Conclusions
Free software again demonstrates its value when it replaces hardware-specific proprietary firmware: Libreboot even gives older equipment a boost and has a positive influence on the behavior of the system. The ThinkPad T400 systems from Minifree are ideal for tough everyday uses thanks to their careful programming and configuration. Let's hope that the development team led by Leah Rowe will receive more support for porting Libreboot to new hardware.
