Controlling a four-axis robot arm
Conclusions
The comparatively simple example in this article illustrates how to control a small model robot with the PiXtend controller and is suitable, for example, to familiarize students with the basics of robotics. The advantage of using the ST programming language is that almost all industrial controllers understand the resulting code.
The PiXtend V2 -L- is clearly aimed at the professional user in the industry, but its pricing makes it quite suitable for ambitious private projects. Alternatively, the smaller PiXtend boards can also accomplish the job. A selection of other models can be found on the manufacturer's website [5].
