Absolute Linux 13.0.9 Reinstates K3b
The new Absolute Linux, based on Slackware, provides the IceWM stacking window manager with improved multimedia support. Version 13.0.9 this time fixes more than just a couple of small bugs.
Absolute maintainer Paul Sherman has satisfied users with three successive updates over a ten-day period. Reason for the updates starting with 13.0.7 at the end of January was problems with the CD/DVD burning. After Sherman settled on Brasero in 13.0.8, he decided to go with a 13.0.9 to include the KDE3 version of K3b:
"Just got tired of problematic CD burning, deciding, finally, that enough was enough. We'll use something that works."
Apart from kernel 2.6.32.7 and a number of Slackware updates from January, the new Absolute contains the DVDStyler and markedly improved multimedia support. The 800 MByte or so CD image is available in a 32-bit version on the project homepage or for download from Sourceforge.
