Kodi 21.0 Open-Source Entertainment Hub Released
After a year of development, the award-winning Kodi cross-platform, media center software is now available with many new additions and improvements.
Kodi 21.0 (Omega) is here and boy does it have that "fresh car smell."
Users will find quite a lot of improvements in this release, as well as new features that help make Kodi even more impressive.
You'll find newly minted support for FFmpeg 6.0, NFSv4, AVI image support, reading and writing M3UB playlsits, libdisplay-info, HDR10 for Xbox, DXVA2 AVI1 hardware 8/10-bit video decoding on Windows, Video Super Resolution (for NVIDIA RTX/Intel Arch), Windows 11 refresh rate switching, it's own implementation of the ping utility, support for .ttc fonts, and initial support for webOS 4 devices.
There have also been a number of changes added to this new release, such as better Pipewire support, AudioEngine improvements, the ability for Linux users to select their desired audio backend, improved VAAPI VP9 Profile 2 playback support, channel group sorting for PVR, better UPnP support for smart TV applications, improved thumbnails, Audio sink improvements for webOS support, and much more.
