MeeGo Extends Call for Proposals
You have until Friday, August 26 to submit additional proposals.
MeeGo Community Manager Dawn Foster announced that the call for proposals for the first-ever MeeGo Conference had been extended to August 26.
"We've had a great response to the MeeGo Call for Proposals with over 150 sessions submitted as of a few minutes ago, and I expect we'll see more today from the procrastinators who waited until the last day to submit," Foster said via a message to the MeeGo mailing list.
Foster highlighted four areas of interest that could use additional submissions:
Birds of a Feather (BOFs): There is no separate submission process for Birds of a Feather sessions. Tag BoF session proposals with "BOF" to designate it from regular proposals.
Project Leadership: Foster's same message mentioned a lack of product leadership submissions from key roles within MeeGo Governance. She suggested a "Meet the Team" BOF, as a good way to acquaint attendees with the team responsible for the project.
Middleware: Middleware includes a wide range of services including telephony, VOIP, Bluetooth, WebKit, 3D graphics with OpenGL, audio, UPnP, sensor framework, backup and restoration utilities, and codecs.
In-Vehicle Infotainment: With the recent announcement from GENIVI that MeeGo would become the de facto operating system for In-Vehicle Infotainment, IVI is hot right now for MeeGo.
The submission page can be found at conference2010.meego.com/program. The MeeGo Conference takes place November 15-17, in Dublin, Ireland.
