Nuremberg: openSUSE Server Down over Weekend
A planned maintenance for the transformers for the openSUSE servers at the Nuremberg office will bring down the critical services for a few days over the 9/11 weekend.
Bringing an openSUSE system to its newest KDE or GNOME version should take place as soon as possible, because the project servers will be taken out of service from Friday 13:00 UTC until Monday 07:00 UTC over the September 11 weekend. Reason for it is transformer maintenance for the Maxtorhof office in Nuremberg, Germany, as the openSUSE announcement reports. The project will be updating and fixing some hosts and services before the downtime.
The hosts affected by the power outage are:
- download.opensuse.org
- software.opensuse.org
- static.opensuse.org (CSS)
- build.opensuse.org (aka buildservice)
- features.opensuse.org
- hermes.opensuse.org
- lists.opensuse.org (means all Mailinglists)
- conference.opensuse.org
- shop.opensuse.org
- i18n.opensuse.org
- apparmor.opensuse.org
- crashdb.opensuse.org
- api.opensuse.org
- users.opensuse.org
- community.opensuse.org
- board.opensuse.org
- svn.opensuse.org
- git.opensuse.org
On Thursday, the openSUSE build service will ensure that all mirror servers are brought to a consistent, up-to-date state for the weekend. Not affected by the downtime are the [language].opensuse.org wikis, forums.opensuse.org and bugzilla.novell.com.
