On the way to GNOME 2.30 and Moblin 2.2, the Clutter project has released a new developers snapshot version of its 3D toolkit with many improved details.
With Qt 4.6 the Finnish mobile giant has made its developer platform Symbian-compatible. Furthermore, it now adds Windows 7, Mac OS X 10.6 and the upcoming Maemo 6 to its list of supported platforms.
The Clutter project has made available version 1.0.0 of its user interface library. Clutter is not only the basis for the Moblin GUI, but the foundation for the upcoming GNOME 3.0 interface.
GNOME developer Thomas Thurman describes the future of the Metacity 2 window manager in a project blog. Apparently a new GNOME component named Mutter will be taking over its functions.
