As part of the KDE 4.0 release event, Trolltech CEO, Haavard Nord, announced that the Qt library would be released under GPLv3. Qt is an important framework for the KDE Linux desktop system.
Lars Knoll is to become part of the Trolltech management team. As Vice President of Engineering, he will lead the developer teams in Norway, Germany and Australia.
Mono developer and Novell employee Miquel de Icaza reported on the progress being made by Moonlight at the XML 2007 Conference in Boston. Moonlight is the Linux variant of Microsoft’s Silverlight solution.
Adobe has released a new version of its Flash Player 9 Update 3, including the Linux version which thus leaves the beta stage. It now supports the H.264 video format and fullscreen operations with accelerated graphics.
