eGroupware Version 1.6 Available

The eGroupware project has released version 1.6 of its web-based software. Amongst the changes is a completely revamped filemanager which uses PHP stream-wrapping and WebDAV, and ACL control on files and directories.

Kerneloops.org Discovers Oops Number 100,000

When the Linux kernel hiccups, it issues a more or less cryptic error message known as an oops. To help kernel developers out a bit, the kerneloops.org website collects these crash signatures in a big database. The website recently registered the hundred-thousandth oops just about the time it celebrated its first birthday.

Intel Updates C++ and Fortran Compilers for Linux

Chipmaker Intel has reworked its proprietary Linux compilers. The Intel C/C++ compiler version 11.0 now supports the mobile processor Atom. The same version of the Fortran compiler now supports the Fortran 2003 language standard.
