Novell Acquires Specialist for Security Management
Novell is extending its portfolio of enterprise management solutions with its acquisition of Senforce Technologies, an endpoint security management specialist.
Endpoint Security Management refers to the automated safeguarding of notebooks and desktops on enterprise networks. Novell previously integrated this technology in its ZENworks Endpoint Security Management product in cooperation with Senforce Technologies. The solution is designed to help administrators protect their networks against data theft, WLAN intrusion and other attacks. To do so, it includes firewall and antivirus solutions, blacklists and data encryption features.
Novell's acquisition gives the company access to Senforce's specialist know-how and technology. Former Senforce products will now be added to Novell's enterprise management portfolio. The price of the acquisition has not been revealed. More information on protecting terminal devices is available on Novell' product pages.
