System76 Refreshes Serval WS Laptop

Jan 31, 2024

With more and more users turning to AI workloads, System76 decided to raise the bar with its Serval WS laptop by upping the specs on a few key components.

System76 understands the trends of development, business, and end users. With all of that in mind, they've come out with an updated version of the Serval WS that is capable of meeting the higher demands of AI workloads.

With a new 14th Gen Intell i9-14900HX CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, high-bandwidth DDR 5 RAM, fast NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage, high-speed USB-C/A/Thunderbolt ports, and a high-framerate display, this laptop is ready to take on the AI-driven workloads you toss at it.

As far as displays are concerned, you'll have three options: a 17" 2K(240Hz refresh rate), a 4K (144Hz) display, or an option capable of diffusing sunlight with a glare-resistant 15” FHD (165Hz) matte display.

But don't think the new Serval WS configuration is geared solely for AI workloads, as this laptop also makes for an ideal gaming device. According to System76, benchmark tests with Cyberpunk on the RTX 4060 yielded 72FPS using the game’s high graphics setting.

The new take on the old favorite starts at $2,099 US, which includes 16GB of RAM on the base model. Find out more about the Serval WS on the official System76 site.
