Wodim works behind the scenes in popular CD/ DVD-burning software, but it’s even more powerful at the command line.
Many people have used some form of Linux in an appliance or mobile device without knowing. The wodim utility is similarly anonymous: If you have used a desktop CD/ DVD burner like Brasero or K3, then you’ve used wodim, and you’ve also used other tools, such as cdrdao and genisoimage; however, the main command is wodim. The tools on the desktop are just the front ends for wodim’s array of command options.
