Ubuntu fans that have slight problems with their current version 9.10 might want to look at Linux Mint. Version 8, a.k.a. "Helena," is now ready for download.

Ubuntu wants to get as many touchscreens working as possible for Karmic Koala. The developers are asking for help by collecting vendor and product IDs for USB touchscreens out in the market.
The first alpha release of the successor to Ubuntu 9.04 is available for download. Ubuntu 9.10, code-named Karmic Koala, includes Kernel 2.6.30 and GNOME 2.27.1.
