Kemp compares power usage and lifespan between desktops and laptops, adding, "But power usage isn't all there is: there are those production and disposal costs, for which lifespan really does matter." On October 7, 1996 I gave birth to my one and only child. She turns 13 on Wednesday, so I'll officially be the mother of an official teenager. Yipes. Our blogger and columnist Bruce Byfield wrote a follow-up to the FSF mini-summit of women in free software.
