Kubuntu 23.10
64-bit
Kubuntu is one of the oldest and most popular official Ubuntu flavors. Although it runs KDE's Plasma, it shares Ubuntu's repositories and is released on the same schedule.
The Plasma desktop is a favorite for many Linux users, who are attracted to its style, its potential for customization, and its Qt-based collection of practical tools. The Kubuntu 23.10 release comes with KDE Plasma 5.27, KDE Frameworks 5.110, and KDE Gear 23.08. The system runs on Linux kernel 6.5, which bakes in support for WiFi 7 and MIDI 2.0.
The 23.10 "Manic Minotaur" release includes all the standard tools you'd expect from Ubuntu. Inside you'll find Firefox 117 and the Thunderbird 115 "Supernova" mail client, as well as LibreOffice 7.6, Python 3.11.5, and PHP 8.2. Your favorite tools from previous versions are also onboard, including the Krita painting program, the Gwenview image viewer, and much more.
