This month we bring you CentOS 7 (64-bit), a community enterprise operating system based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and the Fedora 20 Robotics spin (32-bit).
CentOS [1] [2] sees a lot of new features in version 7, including the systemd system management daemon, the Gnome 3 desktop, and the XFS default filesystem. Linux kernel 3.10.0 supports containers and supplies 3D graphics drivers out of the box.
The Fedora 20 Robotics spin [3] includes a variety of free and open source robotics software [4], including the Player robot server; Stage, a 2.5D multirobot simulator; Fawkes, a software framework for cognitive, real-time robotics; MRPT, the mobile robot programming toolkit; GearBox [5], a collection of peer-reviewed robotics libraries; and much more.
