CouchDB Goes into Beta

Oct 14, 2009

The document-oriented database Apache Couch DB is available in version 0.10.0. The release is currently in a beta state.

New in CouchDB version 0.10.0 are modular configuration directories that the database uses for its settings. This new feature also changes the command line configuration options.

The show and list functions also have a new structure in the new release, as well as a stricter handling of the reduce parameter. These changes affect backward-compatibility and thus have a dedicated wiki page.

Developers also improved the build process and portability. CouchDB 0.10.0 is under Apache 2.0 licensing and available for source code download. Working with the Erlang-written CouchDB has proved to be popular among Web developers.
