KDE 3.5.9 with New PIM Functions

The developers have produced a further update for users who are not willing or able to move to KDE 4: KDE 3.5.9 mainly comprises bug fixes, but also adds a couple of new functions to the desktop environment.

The components of the KDE PIM suite (KMail, KOrganizer, KAddressbook, KAlarm and Kontact) are now more stable and offer new features from the enterprise branch. The innovations include a new bookmarks folder and drag&drop support for KMail. The KOrganizer user iterface has also been revised; as a result, calendar entries are easier to manage than in previous versions. Other components such as KAlarm, Kontact and KAddressbook also offer minor improvements. For example, KAlarm no longer annoys users with error messages and users can specify reminder times in minutes. The KDE-TechBase provides an overview of the new PIM features.

The Changelog lists the changes and bugfixes in KDE 3.5.9, which will be the last version in the KDE 3.5 branch. The source code for KDE 3.5.9 is available for downloading from various mirror servers.
