Linux Package Deal by Bull
French IT corporation Bull is targeting small businesses with a pre-installed Xandros server and commercial software.
A pre-configured software package with the Linux operating system titled Opencenter@bull will be supplied on a Bull NovaScale Server with Intel Xeon dual-core technology. The pre-installed software mainly includes commercial products from the Open Source field; the price also includes installation and half a day's training on site.
The Groupware solution is Scalix Enterprise Edition. The package includes O3Spaces document management and the NX Terminal Server by NoMachine with two NX clients. An SEP backup server is integrated for data backup purposes. Bull also includes the free Nagios monitoring software. Commercial packages by Scalix and O3Spaces are licensed for companies with up to five users and can be extended as needed.
This package deal can be seen as a move by Bull to address small businesses, and comes with a promise of easy migration to a Linux-based system. Openspaces@bull.de costs around 5000 euros plus VAT and is available for immediate delivery.
