I am not impressed with the design neither, I actually quite dislike the orange colour. At least the content is good and that is what matters most.
Not bad, not great either

I have to nitpick about the design a little bit.
It's a slick design, but I'm confused by linux.com's branding. It's spent months on Twitter going with a blue theme, and now it went with orange for the logo.
I know, I know, ultimately not that big of a deal. I do wish they would have thought that out a bit more. It doesn't look like a site dedicated to linux, it looks (ironically, considering my complaint) a web design blog.
Still, much better than previous incantations. I'll give it a B-.
