New Raspberry Pi Camera
The popular Raspberry Pi single-board Linux computer gets a new add-on camera device.
The wildly popular Raspberry Pi project has announced that it is working on an add-on camera module for the single-board Raspberry Pi computer. The camera unit will sell for around US $25. So far, the project has not set a release date for the new camera module. A post at the Raspberry Pi forum states the camera is "...a fixed focus 5MP sensor capable of 2592x1944 stills, but also 1080p30, 720p60 and 640x480p60/90." The dispatch adds, "We are still working on the faster frame rates, but stills capture and 1080p30 are already working. There is still some work to do on the camera driver and on image quality."
