Support for OpenSUSE 11.0 Extended

Jul 06, 2010

By a month.

OpenSUSE 11.0 support is getting extended security maintenance –– for a month.

OpenSUSE 11.0 was released on June 19, 2008 with security maintenance scheduled for the next two years. Unfortunately, that window closes before openSUSE 11.3 is released on July 15, 2010, leaving a 26-day gap in coverage.

Now, thanks to an effort spurred by openSUSE's own Dirk Mueller, the openSUSE team will continue support for 11.0 until version 11.3 drops later next week, at which point the team will stop handling new requests. The last upgrade to 11.0 will be implemented on July 21.
