Symbian Sourcecode Available

Feb 05, 2010

The Symbian Foundation has released its mobile platform of the same name as free software.

The Foundation, to which Nokia transferred Symbian following their total acquisition, is ahead of schedule with the release. Developers can find the download under the Eclipse Public License (EPL) here.

The code consists of 108 packages with the Symbian 3 compatible Symbian Developer Kit and the Symbian Product Kit also available for free download. While Nokia are currently still working on the platform, the finished version is expected in the first quarter of 2010.
