After releasing a new Kernel version, Linus Torvalds needed a few days of rest to put some remaining patches into the next release. The so-called merge window has closed, with the 2.6.33 branch now open.

Good news for anyone with a NVIDIA graphics card: the Nouveau driver goes into Kernel 2.6.33 and supports DRM.

The HA technology, Distributed Replicated Block Device (DRBD), is to be merged into the official Linux kernel, probably from version 2.6.33.

Having been delayed by the Kernel Summit and the Thanksgiving holidays, Linus Torvalds finally releases Kernel 2.6.32.

The openSUSE project has decided to set up an open Git repository for its kernel instead of the daily kernel snapshot.

Dan Williams, Red Hat collaborator and NetworkManager developer, might be upset but doesn't let it get to him. In the GNOME blog, he advises "just say no" to WiFi drivers in the linux-staging tree and recommends changes.
