Data backup for individual hosts

Conclusions

Areca Backup has everything you need for a hassle-free back up of individual computer hard drives. The backing up and restoring processes are highly customizable, with numerous options. An intuitive GUI makes using the backup program a breeze, but it is just as controllable at the command line or through scripting, which means you can use cron. Areca does not have its own scheduling logic, nor can it handle tapes or act as a server for backup clients. However, everywhere a full-blown, professional data backup would be overkill (e.g., only a single computer needs to be backed up), Areca offers users a versatile and reliable tool.
