Carla Schroder Rocking Linux Today
ROSE Blog: Rikki's Open Source Exchange
I'd intended to send a big congrats out to Carla Schroder when she first accepted her new role as Managing Editor of Linux Today, but OSCON and LinuxWorld got in the way and I accidentally skipped it on my List of Things To Do. Of course, I was reminded about this task when someone approached the Linux Pro booth at LinuxWorld and asked me whether we'd recently hired Carla. The answer is no – we still have a managing editor who has settled nicely into her role and doesn't plan to leave anytime soon – but I'd love to work with Carla one of these days, anyway.
Better late than never, so here it goes: Congrats, Carla!
Word on the street... or at LinuxWorld, at least... is that Carla's already rocking out at her new job. Of course, this suprises no one who knows her or follows her online.
Friday, for example, Carla wrote a great Editor's Note that clears up some confusion about what Stormy Peters said at LinuxWorld about open source litigation. Apparently, there was some concern about the accuracy of quotes in the The Pitfalls of Open Source Litigation article that ran on InternetNews. Carla went straight to the source, and Stormy clarified that she actually said that the chances of anyone getting sued are extremely unlikely.
So there you have it – Carla seems to have settled into her new position and is actively stamping out FUD flames across the Internet.
