GNU Guile 2.0 Now Ready for Public Consumption
After three years, Guile 2.0, a GNU interpreter and compiler for the Scheme programming language, is now available.
GNU Guile 2.0 contains new compiler infrastructure and VM, new REPL, new debugger, support for hygienic macros, unicode support, partial R6RS compatibility, new dynamic foreign function interface, switch to the Boehm-Demers-Weiser garbage collector, along with various new modules and dependencies.
GNU Guile is available for download from the GNU ftp site. The GNU Status report contains a summary of Guile 2.0 news. More information on what GNU Guile is, what it can do for users can be found in the GNU Guile Guide on the GNU Website.
