Gen. Hugh Shelton to Present 'Open Your World' Webinar
Join Opensource.com and General Hugh Shelton, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and now Chairman of the Board of Directors of Red Hat, for the Open Your World Forum webcast on February 16, 2011.
On February 16, 2011, opensource.com will host a webcast with General Hugh Shelton (US Army retired), former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and chairman of the Red Hat board of Directors. Shelton will reflect on his nearly four-decade military career and how his experiences in the armed services shared many of the same principles as the open source way.
Serving two terms as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Shelton experienced the broad application of open source principles, including meritocracy, rapid prototyping, transparency, sharing, and authenticity. During this webcast, he'll give examples of the intersection of the open source way and the military, many of which are also chronicled in his recently published autobiography, Without Hesitation: The Odyssey of an American Warrior.
The "Open Your World" webinar is free to attend but you must register. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 16, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm EST and register today to attend this event.
Immediately following his talk, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. Participants can submit questions in advance on the registration form or questions can be emailed as well. For any one who can't attend this webinar the recording will be available online for one year.
More information can be found on the opensource.com website.
