OpenSUSE Community Week Gears Up

May 08, 2009

The week of May 11 through 17 2009 is openSUSE Community Week, whose goal it is to focus on specific topics among openSUSE users worldwide.

The current key topics are KDE, GNOME, package management, marketing and the community. Other topics include translation and quality testing. Each topic has its owner who organizes and runs the meetings.

The Community Week meetings are held mainly through IRC chats on Freenode. To gather as many users as possible, most topics have multiple chats spread over different time periods. The meetings aren't just for active members of the openSUSE community, but for those who would like to become members. Due to international participation, English is the official language chatted. Complete details on the conference and its topics are on the openSUSE webpage.
