The Linux Foundation to Give Away Free Passes to LinuxCon

May 03, 2011

"We will give away one free LinuxCon pass per 20th Anniversary of Linux Video Contest entry," announced Jennifer Cloer, Director of Communications and Community at The Linux Foundation, today.

According to Cloer, the Linux Foundation's annual Video Contest is one of the many ways that individuals can promote Linux; however, she does admit that creating a great video does take a little bit of work. The Linux Foundation wants to acknowledge that work and effort and will give away one free pass to LinuxCon per Video Contest entry.

"A free pass to this year's event is one to put in the scrapbook: with the 20th Anniversary Gala taking place opening night of the event, the Video Contest winner being revealed onsite, and keynotes from Jim Whitehurst and Clay Shirky, among other speakers, it's going to be one for the history books," said Cloer.

The Video Contest this year will be judged by Linux creator, Linus Torvalds, and the winner of the Video Contest will receive high-level visibility and promotion along with their choice of a trip to one of the following events: SXSW, LA Film Festival, LinuxCon North America or LinuxCon Europe.

A complete list of contest guidelines and rules can be found on the Linux Foundation's website.
