Xfce 4.6: Out of the Mouse Hole
The resource-sensitive yet still easy to use graphical desktop environment Xfce is now officially released in version 4.6, and comes with some major internal changes.
The enhancements to the newly released Xfce 4.6 aren't readily apparent until you take a peek under the hood of the slender desktop environment. Among other things, it has a new configuration backend, settings manager, session manager and sound mixer.
Xfce.org provides a highlight of the new version's features in a visual tour. To download and compile the code, the sources and a graphical installer are available here, with binaries for various distros.
