This month in Linux Voice.
Search tools have been around since the beginning of computers. In fact, the power to search for stuff is one of the reasons computers were developed in the first place. But despite this venerable connection between computers and search, search methods remained the same for decades – at least, until the arrival of fuzzy search techniques.
In the old days, you had to type a term exactly right to search on it – mispellings and typos turned up nothing at all. If you guessed the title of a movie or book and were off by one character, you were nowhere. Modern fuzzy search tools offer a way to the answer even if you didn't get the question right. This month we look at the search tools Fzf and Fzy.
