Marcel Gagné sent me a link to a recent article in the Register. The article, "Nut launches death threats at Debian women," quotes project leader Steve McIntyre as saying, "It was some kook in the US who made quite a name for himself harassing women for supposedly destroying the free software movement." The 5th European Symposium on Gender & ICT is calling for contributions, and the deadline for abstract submissions is September 1, 2008. According to the announcement, "On the 5th European Gender and ICT Symposium we will take a closer look at the complex interdependences between gender and ICT. We will explore ways to increase appreciation of diversity in design and use and to strengthen empowerment and participation by means of ICT." Jono Bacon recently announced that the LugRadio Live UK show will be the final show. In his announcement, Jono said, "I am massively proud of what we have managed to achieve.
