We're Linux! Video Competition Winners Announced
The Linux Foundation has announced the winners of its video competition. With more than one hundred entries, the competition with the sub-title, “We're Linux”, called for videos that showed what Linux actually means to its community.
The Foundation was bombarded by over 100 videos from many different countries. A prominent jury, including amongst others, Community Manager Jono Bacon, (Ubuntu) and Joe Brockmeier (openSUSE) have now picked the winners.
The winning videos were shown last night at the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit in San Francisco. Prize for the three winners is an invitation to Tokyo to take part in the Linux Foundation Japan Symposium.
In first place came Israel's Amitay Tweeto, a 25 year old freelance graphic designer. The video uses simplistic methods to show his own idea of freedom.
The 28 year old Uruguayan Augustin Eguia, who lives in Brussels, Belgium, took second place. His entry concentrates on the variety and evolution of Linux.
Third place went to the French film student Sebastien Masse, who delivered probably the funniest video in the competition.
