As your book collection grows, you might lose track of your volumes. Alexandria lets you catalog your tomes quickly and easily without a pesky database server.

Even modern electronic media, such as ebooks on the Internet, have not been able to force the printed book off the market thus far. But, bibliophiles tend to lose track of their steadily growing collections over the course of time, and this makes the use of an electronic filing system a good idea. Thanks to Linux and a small program named Alexandria, you can quickly and easily bring order to your collection. The program is also suitable for managing collections in small libraries because it supports entry of new arrivals with a barcode scanner and also has a lending function.
